One model that stands above the rest is the World Time Ref 5230P. A descendant of the famous Patek Philippe World Time watches launched during the 1930s — and which have become cult models among keen travellers and collectors — Reference 5230 was introduced in 2016. Thanks to an ingenious mechanism patented in 1999, the user can simultaneously correct all the World Time displays in one-hour increments by simply pressing the pusher at 10 o’clock.
Inspired by Patek Philippe World Time watches launched during the 1930s, this Patek Philippe World Time watch is a 38.5mm platinum model that takes on a classic blue dial. A finely hand-guilloche basket weave motif is adorned to the centre of the display, surrounded by a city disc and 24-hour scale with white printed names and numerals. The sun and moon motifs distinguish the night and day hours around this scale. White gold applied hour markers and hands show the time in the inner section of the dial, propelled by the in-house manufactured Caliber 240 HU, which provides a 48-hour power reserve.
Its 22k gold off-centre mini rotor is showcased through a sapphire-backed case. It beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and is certified with the Patek Philippe Seal. The Patek Philippe World Time watch is integrated with a water resistance rating of 30 meters. The slim case is fitted with a deep blue calf leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a fold over clasp.
