Swiss luxury watchmaker, Omega, have paid homage to the Railmaster collection with two new Railmaster variations released this year (2025). If you are an avid Omega collector, or have been following the Omega releases in recent years, you may already be aware of the Omega Seamaster, Omega Constellation and the iconic Omega Speedmaster collection releases, however, up until now, the Omega Railmaster has not seen a revival since the late 2010's.
The reprisal of the Railmaster is long-awaited by many Omega collectors, it is no surprise that today, Omega have launched with two new references in new colours and strap variations to fashion with any style.
On an initial view, the style honours that of the original Railmaster with a vintage looking dial and variations including a polished steel strap, and brown or black leather strap, offering more versatile looks.
An Original Trilogy Underdog: The Omega Railmaster
The original Omega Railmaster holds an enduring legacy. First released in 1957, in the iconic Omega Professional Trilogy, the original Railmaster was accompanied by its companions, the Speedmaster and Seamaster 300. Though arguably the most understated of the Omega collections, the Railmaster CK2914. was curated as a purpose-built tool for those wanting a durable but reliable Swiss watch.
Today, the Railmaster revels in its own light, with three dial variations and two strap variations in two references.
Though the Speedmaster CK2915 was iconic for its initiation of the concept of the external tachymetre bezel, and the Seamaster 300 CK2913, known for being a professional dive watch, the Railmaster CK2914 featured an anti-magnetic system that was intended for scientists and railway staff.
Though a favourite amongst those desiring a piece that could resist magnetic fields of up to 1,000 Gauss, the Omega Railmaster did not gain as much popularity as the others in the collection and, subsequently, was a quiet but loyal timepiece amongst the Omega Collections.
The Omega Railmaster 2025
Vintage inspired and opting for sophistication, the 2025 Omega Railmaster has left the vertically brushed dials behind, updating the look with a more modern, gradient dial. Both references fashion a 38mm dial and casing, a polished stainless steel bezel framing a domed sapphire crystal.
Its look is iconically Omega, the symmetrical layout and signature lyre-shaped lugs on the polished steel resembles features from the modern Aqua Terra line, uniting the look of Railmasters since 2003.
Calibres and Master Chronometers in the Omega Railmaster
Crafted with iconic Swiss movements, the Omega Railmaster is equipped with Co-Axial escapement, a free sprung balance, a silicon balance spring and automatic winding. The movements are Master Chronometer certified by METAS and the anti-magnetic feature has now increased to 15,000 gauss.
Though, due to the difference in dials, both references do not share the same movements. The grey central seconds model features the calibre 8806, and the beige Small Seconds version hosts the calibre 8804.

Modern Gradient Dials
The modern gradient dials of the Omega Railmaster are clean and simple with a choice of two colour variations. Both are neutral colours, ideal for accompanying both daily wear and evening events, adding a touch of Omega style to your look.
The first, Reference 235.10.38.20.06.001 features a grey dial with a slight gradient towards the centre, the OMEGA logo with the ‘Railmaster’ name beneath the centre of the hands. Hour markers and hands are filled with white Super-Luminova, and the hands of this reference are rhodium-plated. The Small Seconds function sports the classic Omega diamond-shaped luminous tip.
The second, reference 235.10.38.20.13.001 fashions a vintage beige/brown dial, with a small hint of black gradient towards the edge, and small seconds component. Pulling references from the 2004 Railmaster, the Omega logo and ‘Railmaster’ name sits above the centrepoint of the hands to make room for the small seconds hand, which is varnished in beige to complement the vintage Super-Luminova filled hours and markers.
Both dials are intended to be sleek and refined. The Railmaster prides itself on its honour to previous versions, it is no surprise that the look for both 2025 references have condensed into a sophisticated look.

Polished Lugs and Leather Straps
Both references are available on black and brown leather straps and a polished steel bracelet, committing to Omega’s dynamic and versatile functions.
The polished steel bracelet is available in three-links, enhancing the bezel and creating a fluid and sleek look. Though similar to the Aqua Terra bracelet with polished centre links and a butterfly clasp, the Omega Railmaster bracelet is integrated with micro-adjust. A small touch that reminds the wearer of the continued innovation of Omega,
The leather strap comes in both black and brown, with complementing stitching in both grey and beige for an added subtle touch. The black strap, available with the grey dial, is best suited for those who enjoy classic look. The versatility of black will never stand to be unfashionable, and the effect of the gradient continues along the curve of the wrist, framing the dial.
The brown leather strap is undeniably vintage. Though contrasting against the steel polished bezel, the neutral tone accentuates the gradient dial and the beige stitching connects to the beige Super-Luminova filled hours and markers. With vintage looks returning, this Railmaster reference is ideal for those looking to brighten up their summer wardrobe with a subtle flair.

Complementing colours, simple designs and versatile looks, the Omega Railmaster is an homage to the original 1957 timepiece. Complementing everyday wear with the intelligent workings of Swiss watches and the durability and innovation that Omega provides. The Railmaster has made a strong comeback and is ready to withstand the test of time, and, no longer in the shadows of its original companions.
