To celebrate this, we have selected some of the most iconic watches in film history. Timepieces that do not just tell the time, but ones that helped tell an incredible story.

Ryan Gosling is truly one of the greatest modern cinema stars. From La La Land and The Notebook to more action packed films like Blade Runner 2049 and The Fall Guy, the Canadian actor has a Golden Globe award along with numerous nominations under his belt.

Harking back to Swiss Watches, in the Russo Brothers’ 2022 spy thriller The Gray Man, Gosling adorns the TAG Heuer Carrera Date, which first debuted in 1962. The TAG Heuer Carrera collection owes its name to one of the most legendary and treacherous races in motorsport history, the Carrera Panamericana. Built for speed, precision, and endurance, the TAG Heuer Carrera as a Swiss timepiece has evolved, yet remains as a symbol of innovation and the relentless pursuit for horological excellence.

This particular model he wears is from the TAG Heuer Carrera Date collection, providing a sleek and minimalist look with a silver dial and a date window at 6 o’clock. Featuring a 39 mm steel case, Gosling’s timepiece blends perfectly with his character as a spy, and during this time he also announced his role as TAG Heuer’s latest brand ambassador.

Bridget Jones is a classic British Rom-com that has been a staple of the UK for over 20 years. Based on the books, these films have become an incredibly popular series, and in 2025 we were graced with the latest film, Mad About the Boy.

Within the film, Chiwetel Ejiofor, playing Mr Wallaker, who acts as one of the new love interests for Bridget Jones in the film is an incredibly refined man. Within the book he wears a Panerai Luminor Marina, however for the film they opted for the Breitling Premier B01 with a black dial.

As an instantly recognisable timepiece, this collection of Swiss Watches from the legendary Breitling provides an elegant and sophisticated appeal to the character.

TAG Heuer - Le Mans (1971) Monaco

Introduced in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph quickly captured attention with its bold design and technical innovation. Just two years later, it achieved legendary status when Steve McQueen, the “King of Cool”, chose to wear it in the cult classic film Le Mans

The movie, centered on the grueling 24-hour endurance race, pitted McQueen’s character against his rival Erich Stahler, played by Siegfried Rauch, in a dramatic battle of speed and grit, making the TAG Heuer Monaco collection forever synonymous with racing heritage and cinematic history.

Named after the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix, this timepiece broke boundaries as the world’s first square-cased, water-resistant automatic chronograph, powered by the pioneering Calibre 11. The embodiment of innovation and daring spirit, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph is an icon in the world of Swiss Watches.

If you are searching for one of the most prestigious cinematic Swiss watches, look no further than the OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M. Few timepieces are as closely tied to film history, and none more so than through their enduring association with the world’s most famous spy, James Bond. In 2022’s No Time to Die, Daniel Craig once again showcased his OMEGA on the big screen.

While Bond has worn various Swiss brands over the decades, it was in 1995’s GoldenEye that OMEGA began its iconic partnership with the franchise, a collaboration that has since become inseparable from the character’s modern identity.

For No Time to Die, Bond sported the exclusive 007 Edition Seamaster 300M, featuring a rich brown “tropical” dial, vintage-hued Super-LumiNova, and a design that subtly bridges cinematic glamour with military heritage. Most notably, OMEGA paid homage to Bond’s naval past by incorporating the British Armed Forces’ broad arrow insignia above 6 o’clock, a refined detail that speaks volumes to enthusiasts who appreciate history woven into craftsmanship.

In recent news, the new video game James Bond 007: First Light, showcased a variety of OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m which you can unlock in-game. These were displayed beautifully in the launch trailer, and it simply shows that this partnership is to stand the tests of time.
