Renowned family-run jeweller Michael Spiers has become a Rolex Authorised Service Centre.
The honour means that two Rolex-trained watchmakers and a technician will undertake the skilled and prestigious work of servicing Rolex timepieces on their premises in laboratory-like conditions in the South West.
The opening of Michael Spiers’ Rolex Authorised Service Centre will be a huge benefit, servicing clients’ watches from our Truro, Exeter, Plymouth and Taunton stores. Adam Spiers, Managing Director of Michael Spiers, said: "We are very proud of our relationship with Rolex - we've represented the brand successfully in the South West for many years and this is the next step in our journey.
"The Authorised Service Centre allows us to give a full two-year worldwide Rolex Service Guarantee on any watch that goes through our workshop. Customers can be reassured knowing our Authorised Service Centre workshop is fully equipped with the latest Rolex tooling to complete their service here with Michael Spiers. Our expert watchmakers in our cutting-edge workshop are trained according to strict excellence criteria and assessed regularly by Rolex."
All of Michael Spiers’ stores - in Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth and Truro - are authorised Rolex retailers. The latest step in the relationship between the two companies follows a period of investment by the South West jeweller. A renovation and expansion of its Truro shop was completed in 2020 while a relocation to a far larger Plymouth store took place in May this year. Michael Spiers also has big plans for their stores in Exeter and Taunton in 2023.
Adam added: "All the stores will have far larger Rolex areas, incorporating a watch technician area and lounge. We've always had a Rolex-trained watchmaker, but now we've built a state-of-the-art workshop to Rolex's specifications. We can take our clients’ Rolex servicing experience to the next level.”
Michael Spiers was established in 1957 and employs a team of 50 across its four stores. Its team of watchmakers, led by Keiran Barrett, has worked tirelessly alongside director Michael Cox to bring the Rolex Service Centre project to fruition.
