Tudor announces landmark agreement with World Rugby including partnership with Rugby World Cups
Tudor announces a landmark deal with World Rugby to add to the brand’s growing rugby portfolio. This new multi-layered partnership will see Tudor support the sport’s leading events for the men, women and U20’s in both the XV and 7’s formats, as well as the World Rugby Hall of Fame and World Rugby Awards.
In 2017, Tudor launched a new campaign with the ‘Born To Dare’ signature. This signature reflects both the history of the brand and what it stands for today. Daring individuals have long chosen Tudor while achieving the extraordinary on land, ice, in the air and underwater. It also refers to the vision of Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Tudor, who manufactured Tudor watches to withstand the most extreme conditions, watches made for the most daring lifestyle indeed. It tells of the singular approach Tudor is known for today, having pioneered now major trends within the watchmaking industry. The Tudor ‘Born To Dare’ spirit is expressed in campaigns and supported globally by ambassadors and partnerships representing it. World Rugby and the individual players, coaches, referees and pioneers who make up the coveted Hall of Fame, embody the daring values that made Tudor what it is today and because of that Tudor is proud to welcome them to its family.
The World Rugby Awards recognise excellence. As sponsors of the World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year, Tudor embraces the modern player who is making an impact on the global stage. These are the individuals who are willing to pursue their passions and are guided by past experiences as they thirst to discover the best they can be.
Rugby Sevens draws inspiration from the heritage of the sport while pushing the boundaries of what’s new. Players of this fast-paced format of rugby look to break the mould and pioneer creative ways to succeed. With Rugby World Cup Sevens taking place in San Francisco in July 2018, the sport is entering an electrifying period that Tudor is eager to mark.
Rugby World Cup is the pinnacle tournament for a rugby player. It provides a platform to test your physical ability, skill level, endurance and mental fitness to perform under pressure against the very best teams across the globe. In a very Tudor ‘Born To Dare’ spirit, these players are designed to go above and beyond in the pursuit of greatness in the most extreme environment that the sport can offer. Tudor will be supporting Rugby World Cup 2019 held in Japan, the first Rugby World Cup in Asia.
The World Rugby Hall of Fame has been designed to celebrate those players, coach, match officials and pioneers who have inspired and developed the game from the humble origins to the character-building sport that is played today. These are the players who have never been afraid to redefine the rules and experiment with unusual tactics and combinations. They will be forever etched into the fabric of rugby union, a sport which they have guided and shaped before passing on the reins to the next generation of talent.
